Biography
Lou van den Dries joined the department in 1986. He was an invited ICM speaker in 1990 and 2018, has been a “correspondent” of the Royal Dutch Academy of Sciences since 1993, and he has been a Professor in the Center for Advanced Study at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign since 1998. Most recently, he presented the Tarski Lecture at the University of California at Berkeley in spring 2017.
